Healing the trauma

In my experience healing comes in all forms and shapes. The goal is for my patient to get a breakthrough and feel free from self-limiting beliefs. But the sad truth about trauma is that it can adversely affect adults for decades.

Somebody who experienced abuse in childhood may be striving for a happy, functioning family life with a great career and hobbies. But the reality is that they are using up valuable energy and personal resources trying to look and function like everyone else because of unresolved issues.

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) when not resolved, may feel like life imprisonment. But with hypnosis, and the right support they can find their way to freedom.

I have a number of tools in my holistic toolbox to help support individuals with long-term physical or mental health conditions, who are tired of living a lower quality of life.

I use hypnotherapy to understand you as a whole, rather than just as a collection of symptoms. Through hypnosis, we can truly get to the core of any problem, which is often rooted in the subconscious.

For over 10 years, I have been supporting individuals with conditions of the mind and also the body. Through hypnotherapy I have helped people to re-pattern the way they think about illness, past trauma and negativity, change their internal dialogue, and to begin to overcome pain. Hypnosis teaches you to re-pattern your negative thoughts and also your behaviours. With hypnosis you can free yourself from past trauma, negativity and unhappiness.

The process to overcoming trauma

The process involves a 2.5 hour holistic hypnotherapy session to get to know you, your condition and your history and to begin rapid transformational therapy. You will then leave with a recording of the session, which you should listen to regularly in order to continue your journey of health and wellness.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful yet gentle process that begins to work in a relatively short space of time. Together, we will get to the heart of your symptoms, to bring balance and transformation.

Treating you as a whole

You may not think that physical symptoms can be treated or helped through hypnosis. However, unlike traditional medicine, holistic hypnotherapy considers the individual as a whole. One event or part of the body can have a knock-on effect upon your entire health and wellbeing – especially in cases of past trauma or abuse.

Hypnotherapy gets to the root of any past trauma or negativity, locating the root cause of your symptoms while also beginning to unblock and unravel.

How does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy works by putting your body and mind into a state of deep relaxation. This relaxation aims to bypass the conscious mind (the part of your mind dealing with immediate, current information) and to talk to your subconscious (the part of the mind where deeper information, memories and feelings are stored.) By sending suggestions, metaphors, stories and images to the subconscious mind, you can begin to work through traumas, blockages and deep-rooted issues. You begin to heal yourself.

What does a hypnotherapy session include

You will receive a complementary 30-minute discovery telephone call so that I can find out more about you, your challenges, and your hypnotherapy goals. Then, after filling in a short questionnaire, we will meet for up to 2.5 hours for the hypnotherapy session. We will have a relaxed chat before the hypnotherapy begins so that you can get to know me, and feel comfortable. During the session, I will take a recording of any realisations, transformations, and key moments. You should leave the session and continue to listen to this recording a few times a week to sustain progres

What can I expect from a hypnotherapy session?

The main thing you can expect from a hypnotherapy session is transformation. The process is gentle yet extremely powerful. During the session, you can expect a relaxed and pressure free environment. We will only talk about what you are comfortable to talk about. You will never be pushed.

Will I be completely ‘under’ or in a trance?

Hypnotherapy is a process of deep relaxation, designed to put you into a dream-like state. But you will still be in control at all times. You will be aware of what is happening, and will be able to come out of the process at any time. You will not be made to do anything you are not comfortable with or not aware of.

How long does it take to see results?

When it comes to hypnotherapy results, everyone is different! It may take a few weeks or months to notice any effect, or you might notice a more immediate change. The hypnotherapy process is a gentle yet powerful approach that is designed to bring transformational change in a faster way.

What do I need to do to prepare for a session?

There will be a questionnaire you will need to fill out before you come. And we will have a 30-minute (complementary) discovery telephone session so that I can find out about you and your aims for hypnotherapy. Other than that, you just need to bring yourself. Wear something comfortable, and come with an open and curious mind.

I am able to draw on my 40 years’ worth of experience as a qualified nurse, as well as my training and experience as a holistic therapist. This means that I am able to consider your body and your mind holistically – as a whole. I have a set of traditional and alternative tools that I can draw from to help you address your challenges from all angles.

What is recorded during the hypnotherapy session?

I will never record the whole session, anything very personal or upsetting. I will record only the key moments, the key pieces of advice and the key ‘suggestions’ used. You should continue to listen to this recording a few times a week so that you can continue your own self-healing journey.

Why do I need to listen to the recording again?

Listen to the recording every day for 3 weeks to reinforce the message from your hypnosis session. Hypnosis begins to work immediately and is reinforced by listening to the special recording made for you during the session.

Do you use video conferencing?

Yes. I can do hypnosis via Skype known as Skypnosis! But I can use any video tool that you prefer. Please advise when we speak.
